The Observatoire du Pic du Midi (established 1878) is an astronomical observatory located at 2877 meters on top of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre mountain in the French Pyrenees. ZK led the University of Manchester Lunar Programme work here, using the 2 foot in diameter refracting telescope which had a sufficiently long focal length of 60 foot to produce high quality images for lunar mapping.
