Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Kirkintilloch and Kilsyth Hospitals Board of Management was one of the smallest Boards of Management formed in 1948 , responsible for the Broomhill and Lanfine Hospitals at Kirkintilloch, Dunbartonshire and Victoria Cottage Hospital at Kilsyth, Stirlingshire. The Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Management held the same office in respect of the Glasgow Dental Hospital Board of Management and Glasgow Homoeopathic Hospitals Board of Management. In order that complex endowments issues could be resolved, records of the Association for Relief of Incurables in Glasgow and West of Scotland were transmitted to the Board. Birdston and Lenzie Hospitals were transferred to the Board of Management in 1960 and 1972 respectively. In the reorganisation of 1974 this Board of Management was swallowed up in the Northern District of the Greater Glasgow Health Board.
