Scope and Content

Lease of messuages and lands at Kersal by (1) Roger Kenyon, citizen and distiller of London to (2) George Kenyon of Kersall [Kersal], gent., father of (1), in fulfilment of articles of agreement made 15 August 1673 between (2) and his wife, Katherine, (1), and Thomas Kenyon, son of (2), of property, now in the possession of (2). Term: 99 years.

Signed: George Kenyon. Parchment tag; seal missing. Endorsed with memorandum of agreement between the two parties regarding the making of a way or passage through the Redstone or Stockmeadow.

The attached papers relate to the Kenyon family's agreement to redeem the estate from Thomas Smith, and comprise two copies of the Articles of Agreement, 15 August 1673 between the same above-mentioned parties; bonds of Thomas Kenyon, 15 August 1673, of George Kenyon, 20 September 1673, and of George Kenyon and Katherine, his wife, 15 August 1673; two acquittances of George Kenyon, 15 and 20 September 1673.
