Letter from Edward Chetham, Castleton, to Mrs Byrom, Kersal, regarding proposed action to prevent the continuation of the horse-racing on the moor. As he is troubled with the gout, he has prevailed upon his steward to call on her next Saturday. He suggests giving notice to the organisers of the horse-racing to take down the stands on the moor, or to order their removal and the filling-in of the benches where alchohol was served; if this action fails, he suggests digging up the course. He encourages Dr Byrom and his nephew to support him.
