Established in 1898, the Workers' Union amalgamated with the Transport and General Workers' Union in 1929.

Further records of the Workers' Union are held in R. Hyman's working papers for his history of the Workers' Union (MSS.51) . An authority file exists for the Workers' Union (GB 152 AAR227).

Custodial History

As a predecessor of the Transport and General Workers' Union the initial deposit was made in 1976 by that union. Accruals to the deposit are listed under the entry for the Transport and General Workers' Union (MSS.126/TG) . The archive has been deposited in the Centre on indefinite loan.
