16th-19th century manuscripts collected by Buchanan, mainly for the sake of their bindings or illumination.

Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Ryburn Buchanan (1846-1911)was elected to a Fellowship at All Souls College in 1871, where he was Librarian of the Codrington Library, 1878-1882. He was an MP, 1881-1909. Further details are available online at http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/specialcollectionswmss/online/online.htm.
