Charles Roberts studied medicine at Middlesex Hospital, London and qualified in 1896. He served in the Boer War and became a RSO at MRI in 1901. He worked at Manchester Northern, RMCH and the Christie Hospitals, before being appointed honorary assistant surgeon at MRI in 1910, and was made full surgeon in 1921. Roberts was associated with a operation for extroversion of the bladder, and was a well-regarded clinical teacher.
