Administrative / Biographical History

Sellers gained his medical education at Edinburgh University where he won a number of academic awards and scholarships. For some time Sellers practised in Radcliffe with his brother, William Sellers. He was resident physician to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary before coming to Manchester where he was on the staff of the Public Health Laboratory at the beginning of the century. He served as a captain in the RAMC working as a bacteriologist at the Second Western General Hospital in Manchester. Sellers later became pathologist to Manchester Northern Hospital and the Children's Hospital and lecturer in comparative pathology at the University of Manchester. Sellers was a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of Manchester Medical and Pathological Societies.
