Administrative / Biographical History

Maurice Powicke (1879-1963) was a student of Tout. He was assistant lecturer in history atManchester from 1906-1908, and professor of medieval history from 1919 to1928. Powicke was Regiusprofessor of modern history at the University of Oxford from 1928 to 1947.
