The Owens College Union Magazine was first issued in January of 1894, superseding the Owens College Magazine. As its name indicates, the magazine was published by the Students' Union. The Magazine was produced in a larger format than its predecessor, and included photographs of prominent staff and students for the first time. It provided considerable coverage of Union affairs, and published reports from student societies and sports clubs.
The Magazine appeared monthly during the academic session. It was published up until June 1904 when it underwent a further name change to the Manchester University Magazine. The Magazine is fully indexed.Former reference: UA/25
