Bill was educated at Manchester Grammar School. By 1788 he was practising as an apothecary in Manchester [Eighteenth Century Medics]. In 1790 he was appointed surgeon to the MRI, resigning in 1804 and moving to Farley Hall, Staffordshire. Bill died on 6 April 1847, aged 90.
