Scope and Content

Correspondence between the University and the Northern School of Music. The School (originally called the Mathay School of Music) had been founded in 1920 to provide musical training; it was considered to be junior to the Royal Manchester College of Music in status. Most of the correspondence concerns the School's desire to forge closer relations with the University.
