The Department of Agricultural Economics was part of the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies. The Department received the bulk of its funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, and was required to undertake certain consultancy and research roles on behalf of the Ministry. In addition to this, departmental staff undertook normal academic duties, working with colleagues in the Department of Economics.
