Scope and Content

The Nursery provided facilities for students who required daycare for children. The Nursery was established by a Students Union initiative, without support from the University. It opened in October 1966 at St David's Hall, Oxford Place. It later relocated to a building owned by UMIST in Oxford Road. In the 1970s, UMIST and the University began to provide some financial support for the Nursery, and in 1973 established a joint management committee. The file is mostly deals with financing, including requests for University support, and the various properties occupied by the Nursery.
