The
Lanarkshire Coal Masters' Association
was established in
1886
in Glasgow, Scotland, to regulate wages 'in accordance with the state of trade and matters relative thereto'. Membership of the association was open to colliery owners who owned coal mines within Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was managed by an executive committee, which existed of the following annually elected officers: a president, two vice-presidents, a secretary and treasurer and representatives from the eight districts into which Lanarkshire was divided. The association held its meeting in Buchanan Street, Glasgow, before moving to the National Coal Board's buildings in Wellington Street, Glasgow, in 1931.
