Fonds level description compiled by Sarah Chubb, Archives Hub Project Archivist, July 2001.
The Royal Victoria Hospital began as a 'hospital for incurables' at premises in Jedburgh Road, Dundee. It provided long-term nursing care for a small number (usually about fifty) of terminally ill patients from 1900 to 1948 when it was transferred to the administration of the National Health Service. Developments after this date included the addition of a geriatric ward in 1959.
Annual reports 1938-1950; general minutes 1916-1953; finance committee minutes 1900-1951; ledger 1921-1927; register of legacies 1899-1944.
