Sir W.J. (William James) Ashley (1860-1927), economist, was former professor of economic history at Harvard University, professor of political economy at the University of Toronto and fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford. He was a member of the 1918 Working Class Cost of Living Committee in the UK.
Comprises minutes of evidence of the Working Class Cost of Living Committee, 1918 and lecture notes on mercantilism, and economics in the ancient world etc.
