Scope and Content

Papers and visual material relating to commissions carried out for BEA and BOAC, and their public relations agency Colman Prentis and Varley Ltd. Includes source material, artwork and finished print material, as well as associated correspondence. There are also 6 colour photographs of Imperial Airways advertising posters of the 1920s and 1930s. Imperial Airways merged with BOAC in 1939.

The smaller envelope also includes material which does not appear to relate to BEA or BOAC: 7 b/w prints relating to health & safety procedures for crane drivers (6 visuals, one text-based), possibly for British Railways (envelope is marked 'British Railways / BEA / BOAC'); and one unidentified mounted reproduction design featuring a ship at sea.
