Notes on the parish church of Llanelltyd and the Vaughan family

Scope and Content

Handwritten notes in pencil on three scraps of paper, written on one side of each piece, except for one piece of paper, which has writing on both sides, including (on its front side, written in capitals and then traced over in ink), the ancient Welsh saying: 'ASGRE LAN DIOGEL EL PHERCHEN,'('a clear conscience is the best shield'). Although not entirely legible, the notes appear to give details of various memorials for members of the Vaughan family from the 18th and 19th centuries. One piece also contains details on the interior of Llanelltyd church, such as the specifications of the font and a description of panels that were formerly part of a screen, which presumably no longer exists. It relates to entry No.278, on pages 97-98 of the volume.
