These papers contain two handwritten drafts of the article. One draft is written on pages created from cutting up newsheets which are dated 1895. The second version, though undated, is probably of a later date and it has an accompanying draft of a letter from John Drew Bate, probably to the Royal Asiatic Society, in response to an article published in a Journal regarding the origin of Phoenician and Indian alphabets.
