Letter from George John Rhodes to William Robinson

Scope and Content

Written from 3 Pall Mall East, [London] [address of the Union Club]. Manuscript

He thanks Robinson for the particulars; 5% is too much; he is buying freehold ground rents to pay this rate of interest, with no repairs to see to in this class of investment; he has some freehold property at Hertford which he could exchange if the county would suit, and if Robinson's price could be lowered to pay 6 to 7%

[Rhodes was author of the book 'Remarks on the Purchase, Value, Management and Letting of Landed Property' (1853)]
