Sketches of characters and characters in settings in graphite, ink and watercolour on 11 sheets of paper and one on cartridge paper, inscribed in graphite with ms notes on colours and details, including a sketch of Ada Rehan as Julia, (copied from a photograph). The small watercolour sketch of Julia on cartridge paper mounted on a sheet of paper seems to be Hockley's 'finished' sketch, the pinholes in the top corners indicating that it had been pinned up. The sheet on which it is mounted is inscribed in ink with ms notes on colours and details.
