Contains papers relating to both the Clocks Sub-Committee (of which Frank Francis was Chairman from 1971) and its parent body, the Conservation Committee (of which Francis was a member from 1978). Contains correspondence, including discussion of particular church clocks; committee minutes, agendas, and discussion papers; membership lists; grant aid application requests and reports on the condition of clocks; annual reports and accounts; articles and cuttings relating to church clocks; and material relating to repair, maintenance, and conservation, including lists of firms and individuals specialising in repair and preservation. The Council changed its name in 1974.
