1. ff. 1-61. Typescript and proofs from earlier publications comprising printer's copy for Book one, new poems (1927) of The Collected Poems of G. K. Chesterton, published London: Cecil Palmer, 1927 (Sullivan, no. 69); circa 1927. Partly typewritten, partly printed. These poems had previously been published in The New Witness and G. K.'s Weekly. With autograph amendments, and with three poems, 'The May Queen', 'The song of cosmopolitan courage' and 'To Lord Claud Hamilton and another' in galley proof form, annotated by Dorothy Collins "Removed by G. K. C. from proofs of 'Collected poems' 1926".

2. ff. 62-65. Gloria in Profundis; 1927. Typewritten copy. Published London: Faber, 1927 (Sullivan, no. 70).

3. ff. 66-88. Dedication and the first and last stories and text for the blurb of the American edition of The Secret of Father Brown (1927) (Sullivan, no. 71); [1927]. Typewritten copy. Unlike the other stories in this collection, these two stories were not previously issued in Cassell's Magazine or The Storyteller.
