Administrative / Biographical History

James Clunie was born on 20 March  1889  and died on 25 February  1974 . He was a house painter and decorator who became MP for Dunfermline burgh from  1950-1959 . He had previously been a member of Dunfermline Town Council from 1933 to 1950. He wrote on working-class labour issues including The First Principles of Working Class Education (1920 ) and Literature of Labour: The autobiography of a house painter (1967 ).
