Scope and Content

Ruled for daily and weekly totals. Printed 1797. This account book was rarely used. A few pages have been cut out from the front of the notebook and probably were those that contained the extra information detailed in the contents page such as tables of weights and measures. However some of the pages containing extra information survive at the back of the including a table of the expenses of every week in the year and of the whole year, at one view (which has been left blank); tables of English and Irish money equalised; horse, hat and dog taxes; instructions for the choice of all kinds of flesh, fish, game, poultry etc. and the season when they are in the most perfection; sundry useful receipts and the importance of keeping a diary.
