Scope and Content

a) ALS from Philip Larkin to Sydney and Eva Larkin: elections, the Fortune Press, 'The North Ship' ("the book") and 'Jill'; 'Henry V' (film), Bruce Montgomery, and Horseshoe Falls, includes an illustration by Philip Larkin, 8 July 1945

b) ALSs from Kitty Larkin and Nellie Larkin congratulating Philip Larkin on receiving the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry, and on the issuing of the Marvell Press 'Listen Record' [of 'The Less Deceived']), 4 May 1965 & 5 May 1965. (2)

c) ALSs from Edgar Larkin illustrating the Larkin family tree, and discussing the treatment of gravestones in Lichfield by the City Council, and his own published memoirs, 30 April 1975 & 3 September 1979. (2)

d) ALSs concerning the death of Philip Larkin's mother, Eva Larkin. One is from cousin Vera Thorpe (20 November 1977) and one (undated) is a note from Kitty Larkin (Catherine Hewett), dealing mainly with practicalities whilst clearing out EL's home. (2)
