Further to settlement 'some years since' on marriage of H.S. & Elizabeth, daughter of Lord Langdale, by which Sir J.S. promised to settle a jointure of £300 on Elizabeth if she should outlive H.S.: Lord L. having paid £1,100 of the marriage portion of Elizabeth, and the remaining £900 being secured (as U DDHA/16/13); and Sir J.S. having settled the manors of Brakenbergh and Kirbywisk to raise rents for Elizabeth: as U DDHA/16/13, and capital messuage in Humberton par.
