The papers consist of notes taken by Thompson as undergraduate and graduate student at Oxford University on lectures by T.W. Chaundy, G.H. Hardy, E.A. Milne and others.

Administrative / Biographical History

Thompson was born in Yorkshire and educated at New College, Oxford. He was Mathematics Tutor and Fellow, Wadham College, Oxford, 1936-1975. He was Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Oxford University in 1964.
