Two MS illustrations in black, presumably comprising separate sections of the same image, on separate pieces of paper but mounted on the same piece of cardboard. The left drawing is of McGonagall with a speech bubble ‘oh beautiful [bridge] over the silvery tay [sic].....’ The drawing on the right shows Queen Victoria, sitting on her throne and facing McGonagall, looking unimpressed. MS annotations in blue on the cardboard ‘78’, circled, above the left picture; ‘79’, circled, above the right picture and a line down the middle of the cardboard to divide the images. On the reverse, an MS annotation in blue ‘2871/24’.
Illustration to 'William McGonagall: the truth at last'
