Illustration to 'William McGonagall: the truth at last'

Scope and Content

Two MS illustrations in black of McGonagall, on separate pieces of paper but mounted on the same piece of cardboard. The left drawing shows him covered in some sort of liquid, with fish on his body and underneath him and a speech bubble ‘oo beautiful pudding of rice’. The drawing on the right shows him standing naked apart from a beret and something tied to his foot, with a speech bubble ‘oooooo’. MS annotations in blue on the cardboard ‘97’, circled, above the left picture; ‘99’, circled, next to the right picture and a line down the middle to divide the images. On the reverse, an MS annotation in blue ‘2871/24’.
