Lynette Roberts' letters to Graves cover many aspects of the two correspondents' intellectual and domestic lives. She discusses inter alia: the situation concerning the decision of her husband - Keidrych Rhys - to absent himself from the army in 1942; Rhys's work for the magazine 'Wales'; Graves's research into Celtic and Welsh mythology and literature, including 'Taliesin', for 'The Roebuck in the Thicket' (later 'The White Goddess') and the assistance which she is providing; their poetry and other work, including her unpublished novel 'Nesta'; their social milieu, which included a number of Welsh poets and figures such as Alan Hodge and T.S.Eliot; the birth and infancy of her daughter Angharad and son Prydein; her divorce from Rhys, problems with custody of the children, and her attempts to travel with them to Majorca to stay near the Graves's home in Deyá.
