Catalogue of Shells in the Saul Collection

Scope and Content

The volumes contain a list of species of shells contained in the collection of Miss Saul. Apparently as least one of those was in her own handwriting.

Administrative / Biographical History

Miss Jane Saul (1809-1895) had a famous collection of shells in her house in Bow, London. She bequeathed her collection to the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge and was accessioned in the museum in 1895.

Access Information

Manuscripts can be consulted on appointment only. The Museum of Zoology is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 17:00 pm. Access and reproduction is at the discretion of the Archivist.
