Bedford Physical Training College Limited went into voluntary liquidation and passed into the control of Bedfordshire Local Education Authority on 1 August 1952 following negotiations conducted by the Principal Eileen Alexander. The College was 'sold' to the LEA for £57,637 and became known as Bedford College of Physical Education.
