The Dance Drama Hall built by Bedford College of Physical Education in 1966 became a 'community venue' in 1986 enabling it to be used by the public. The venue was subsequently renamed the Bowen-West Community Theatre.
Contains souvenir programme for Renaming Ceremony held on 12 September 1986 featuring a short profile of Patricia Bowen-West, Principal of Bedford College of Physical Education (1971-1976), programme and handbill for King Arthur performed by the Bedfordshire Youth Opera Group as part of the Renaming Ceremony, and press cuttings from Bedfordshire on Sunday concerning the launch and refurbishment of the Community Theatre.
