Literary and Personal Papers of Hans Majut

Scope and Content

A collection of literary papers of Dr. Hans Majut (1892-1937), together with Majut family papers, etc. Hans Majut's literary works include juvenile works, drafts, final manuscripts, typescripts of poetry stories etc. Majut family papers cover the period c.1915-1941 and include correspondence, photographs and circulars from the Centre for German Jewish Dentists (Beratungstelle fur judische Zahnarzte Deutschlands) and the State Organisation of Christian Non-Aryan or Not-Pure-Aryan German Citizens (Reichsverband christlich-deutscher Staatsburger nichtarischer oder nicht rein arischer Abstammung e.V).

There is also a collection of ca. 6000 books from the library of Mr. Rudolf Majut which is listed separately.

Donated by Dr. Rudolf Majut. Book collection donated to the University by Dr. Rudolf Majut's widow.

Note

The literary papers of Dr. Hans Majut (1892-1937) were compiled by his brother, Dr. Rudolf Majut (1887-1981), a literary scholar and sometime honorary member of the Department of German, University of Leicester.
