Administrative / Biographical History

Mrs Joan Rees was born in 1915, daughter of Ernest and Vi Tench, and granddaughter of Alderman Hopkin Morgan, mayor of Neath when the freedom of the borough of Neath was presented to Prime Minister David Lloyd George in August 1918. She is depicted in the commemorative painting of the ceremony, and gave a bouquet to Mrs Lloyd George.
