Scope and Content

The file contains a handwritten score (by Burgess) for the part of Great Bass Recorder only, and a photocopy of the complete score (i.e. for Great Bass Recorder and Piano), inscribed "Good Friday, April 13 1990".

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1990 Burgess began composing for the great bass recorder. He completed the first of these works - the Sonata in C - in April 1990, shortly after becoming acquainted with the instrument.
