Scope and Content

The papers are mainly correspondence, some with Girtonians including the archaeologist Sylvia Benton (1887-1985), and with John Peart-Binns. There is also material about Sybil Campbell (her portrait to hang at Crosby Hall and the pamphlet about her by Katharine Bentley Bauman).

Administrative / Biographical History

Margaret Wallace was educated at Notting Hill High School and came to Girton to read first English then History 1922-25 (MA 1930). After secretarial and laundry management training, she worked for the Church Assembly; also for the BFUW. She was a research assistant in the Religious Division, Ministry of Information 1939-42, later assisting at Lambeth Palace, working in support of Ecumenism.
