Ron Kinder Collection

Scope and Content

Ron Kinder's collection came to the archive in April 2006, and the most exciting aspect of the recorded images appeared to be Ron's early slides. These are dated from around 1963 and include Ron's travels to the various preservation events as well as a few pictures from local Derbyshire fairs.

Administrative / Biographical History

Ron Kinder was a fairground enthusiast based in Ripley, active in this hobby through photography and research. His own photographs begin in the late 1960s with high quality slide images taken around Derbyshire, plus Ron's own views of the various steam rallies. Ron later worked with standard printed photographs, being a meticulous attendee of the Goose Fair pull-on, and a keen documenter of Ripley Charter Fair.
