Administrative / Biographical History

Hugh Birrell (b.1875), was born in St Andrews, Fife, the son of John Birrell of St John's, Fife. He attended Madras College, St Andrews (Mr McKenzie) and then went on to Trinity College Cambridge in 1895, gaining his BA in 1898.
