Notes of a sermon attributed to Matthew Henry (1662-1714), dated 17 December 1704.

Sermon entitled 'Jesus Christ as a King conquers His and our enemies', based on 1 Cor 25:15, For he must reign til he has put all enemies under his feet.

Matthew Henry (1662-1714), son of Philip Henry, became a Presbyterianminister like his father. He was a brilliant preacher, active in evangelical ministry throughout Cheshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire, although he was often persecuted for his non-conformism. He worked mainly in Chester, moving to Hackney for the last few years of his life. As well as an impassioned preacher, he was a prolific writer, his best known work being Exposition of the Old and New Testament.
