Scope and Content

Two volumes of sermons dating from 1842 to 1866. Some are quite full and extensive, whilst others are less complete.

Administrative / Biographical History

Henry Rees was born in 1798 in Llansannan, Denbighshire and died in 1869 and is buried at Llandysilio, Anglesey. He was undoubtedly, one of the most famous Calvinistic Methodist preachers of his time. At Shrewsbury he learned the craft of book binding, and was ordained a minister at Bala in 1827. He served in Liverpool as minister.

Amongst his published works are, Pregethau, 1872 and Pregethau : cynghorion gweinidogaethol ac anerchiadau, 1881.
