Comprises a print and drawings by Frances Williams. 

  • Print of Temple House, Bisham, Berkshire, the home of Thomas Williams of Llanidan, taken from an edition of The Beauties of England and Wales, post 1802. Endorsed, rough sketch of the Porth yr Aur area of Caernarfon town walls

Administrative / Biographical History

Frances Williams (b. 1798) of Treffos, Llansadwrn, Anglesey, ne Lloyd, was the daughter of Thomas Lloyd of Glangwna, Caernarfon and Whitehall, Shrewsbury. Frances was interested in painting, drawing and astronomy and she and husband James Williams (1790-1872) raised funds to buy lifeboats and started the Anglesey Lifeboat Association. They are the great grandparents of artist Kyffin Williams (b. 1918) of Llansadwrn, Anglesey.
