PAPERS consisting mainly of correspondence between R. H. Hill, Cowbridge, Glamorgan and J[ohn] Jones, concerning the David Hughes Free Grammar School, Beaumaris, Anglesey. The bundle includes a list of fixtures at the schoolhouse; a letter of application for the post of headmaster; and letter of acceptance by Hill. Further letters include a request for a transcription of the original deeds; the names of boys attending the school; the armorial bearings of the founder and the arms borne by the town. These papers also deal with the bad state of repair of the schoolhouse and a request for the schoolhouse to be painted. The bundle also includes replies from John Jones.
