Scope and Content

LETTER: Wm. Corbet Jones Parry, 7, Camberwell New Road, Remington Park, London, to Mrs Yale. He claims that the valuation is too high and has extracted the items he is prepared to take and suggested a price. He claims that she is not entitled to remove chimney pieces and grates, kitchen range, racks in the stables, iron and iron hurdles, gates. He reminds her that neither his father nor himself were ever consulted about alterations at Plas yn Yale or the running of the estate except on the single occasion when he asked if the residences restriction could be removed and that was for his own benefit. He would be within his legal rights to demand that the house be restored to its original state. He wants to get into residence at Plas yn Yale as soon as possible and therefore asks that it be put into a tenable state which in many respects it is not. In a postscript he says he has not noticed the large stone statues included in Mr Adam's valuation but has no desire to possess them at any price.
