Scope and Content

LETTER: Sarah, 31 Bangor Street, Bootle to her dear sister, Miss Parry, Tudor Cottage, Llangefni thanking her for the letter and stamps. She can exchange the stamps in the shop for goods. She is still improving in health but cannot sit to do her sewing. She feels very tired after walking to Seaforth Shore - there were thousands of people there, some staying in tents. People have no money to go away. She had some tomatoes and gooseberries from Llangollen and 6 oatcakes from Scotland and a bunch of heather (a piece of which is pressed to the letter). She would like to spend a few days in Llangefni but couldn't pay the fare, and she knows things ar pretty bad in Llangefni. Miss Parry did not say whether she liked the photo of Sarah and Sarah questions whether she would know her if they met in the street.
