Papers of William Lloyd Jones, 1881-1887, [1906], relating to his sale of Bryn-y-Gloch in Tudweiliog, Bryntirion in Llanengan and Ty Newydd in Pistyll, all Caernarfonshire, comprising deeds, plans and other papers, 1881-1883, [1906], and correspondence with the auctioneer and solicitors, 1882-1884; and correspondence with Nevin United Granite Quarries (Carnarvonshire) Limited relating to the possible sale of Ty Newydd, 1886-1887.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Robert Lloyd Jones (fl. 1881-1887) of 60 Coleshill St, Eaton Square, and later 20 Whitehall Place, London, owned three farms in Caernarfonshire: Bryn-y-Gloch in Tudweiliog, Bryntirion in Llanengan, and Ty Newydd (or Tynlon) in Pistyll. Bryn-y-Gloch and Bryntirion were sold at auction in February 1883, while Ty Newydd was retained. Nevin United Granite Quarries (Carnarvonshire) Limited later showed an interest in purchasing Ty Newydd to construct a tramway.
