Administrative / Biographical History

Caradog Jones (fl. 1915-1978) of Mynytho, Llanengan, Caernarfonshire, was Secretary of the Lleyn Branch of the Workers' Educational Association (WEA), [c. 1931]- [c. 1973]. He lectured and researched various subjects including:education, agriculture, religion, genealogy, trade and industry and local history. He was awarded an MA in 1952. He was a Local Councillor and was Clerk to the South Caernarvonshire Parish Councils Association. He became a Justice of the Peace in 1954. In 1947, the Survey Council for Rural Wales conducted a social survey of the Lleyn Peninsula, for which Jones was the Local Committee Secretary.
