Abergavenny case for tramroad, 1813.

Administrative / Biographical History

At the beginning of the 19th century, coal was transported by horse-powered trams from collieries to the nearest canal for distribution. The tramroad from Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, was built in the 18th century. By 1829 the tramroad reached Hereford.
